Fantasy Baseball Official Rules

1. OVERVIEW
The Fantasy Jungle is pleased to announce Fantasy Jungle Baseball.
The entry fee is a flat fee of $500.00 with absolutely no additional
charges throughout the season for transactions.
All teams will compete in a draft style league with a scoring system
based on points. You will compete in both 1) league play within your
league of 15 teams, and 2) nationally, with every team that is entered
in the contest .
We will be using our unique power-scheduling system for this contest,
which means each week your team will compete head to head with every
other team in your league as they compile a season won/loss record for
the first 19 weeks of the MLB season. In other words, each team will be
playing 14 head to head matches every week of the regular season. The
top scoring team in their league will be 14-0 for that week. The second
best scoring team would be 13-1, etc.
In addition, teams will also accumulate points throughout the season
based on the scoring system below. At the end of the regular season
(after week 19), the League Championship Game will be determined. This
will consist of the team in each league with the best overall record vs.
the remaining team in that league with the highest point total. If the
same team has both the best record and highest point total in their
league, we will take the team with the second highest point total to
play the team with the best record. The League Championship Game is a
(2) week match-up that takes place over weeks 20 and 21 of the MLB
season. Both teams that are competing in the League Championship Game
will start the League Championship Game with their weekly point average
that they have accumulated over Weeks 1-19 of the season. The team
scoring the most points in these two weeks, plus their weekly average
that they start out with, is deemed their League Champion, and the other
team The Runner Up, and both teams will advance to the National Playoffs
that begin in Week 22. All other teams who did not make their League
Championship Game, will continue to submit lineups during the League
Championship Game as these weeks are used to determine wildcard teams.
The next 5 teams with the highest point totals, will join the
League Champs and Runners Up for the National Playoffs.
All teams
will start the National Playoffs with
their weekly point average that they have accumulated over Weeks 1-21 of
the season and the National Playoffs will
be based strictly on points. The playoffs will run from week 22 and run
through the end of week 25. The last week in the MLB season is not used
in case "star" players that have clinched a playoff spot are given a
couple days off by their respective teams. The team with the highest
cumulative point totals (combined with their starting average) during
these weeks, will be declared the champions of their respective
divisions with one team being crowned “King of the Jungle”.
Individuals will be allowed to sign up and manage up to 3 teams,
however, these teams must draft on different dates to avoid being placed
in the same league.
All contestants must have internet access to play in The Fantasy Jungle.

2. DRAFT
All leagues will conduct their drafts online, via The Fantasy Jungle
website. There will be three (3) drafts. All players are welcome to take
advantage of the multiple team discounts and participate in all three
drafts. The dates for the drafts are as follows:
Draft 1- Saturday, March 22th at 4 PM EST.
Draft 2- Wednesday, March 26th at 8:00 PM EST.
Draft 3- Saturday, March 29th at 4 PM EST.
Leagues will be comprised of 15 teams, and the draft will be conducted
in serpentine fashion. Thus, the team who has the first pick in the
first round will have the last pick in the second round and the first
pick in the third round, and so on, and so on. The draft will consist of
27 rounds. Each team will have (60) seconds to make their selection.
Each league will be assigned a draft moderator and a given a special
conference line phone number to call, if in the rare instance they lose
connection and cannot make a selection. The moderator will then keep you
up to date with your league selections and choose the player you request
until you regain connection. Every attempt will be made to reach anyone
who has lost connection before we select a player for them. If we are
unable to reach you and you have not provided a contact number, the
draft moderator will make a selection for you based on rankings set
forth by the Jungle staff.
The Fantasy Jungle will draw for both league assignments and draft
position, (2) days before each draft date, at which time signups will
close for that particular draft date.
We will draw for leagues and draft positions on the following days:
Draft #1- Thursday, March 20th, at approximately 2PM EST
Draft #2- Monday, March 24th, at approximately 2PM EST
Draft #3- Thursday, March 27th, at approximately 2PM EST
All players that are on their team's (40) man roster at the time of the
draft, are eligible to be drafted. The Fantasy Jungle will have all of
these players listed and available in the draft room. If a player starts
the season in the minor leagues, and is not on his respective team's
(40) man roster at the time of the draft, he may not be drafted. Once
the minor league player is called up to the majors, he will then be
added into the free agent pool and teams may bid on him.

3. ROSTER REQUIREMENTS
Teams must carry 27 players on their roster at all times and may never
exceed that number. There is no disabled list, so if a player is
injured, you are not allowed a free injury substitution. You can,
however, keep this player on your bench. With 18 required starting
lineup spots, each team is allowed to carry 9 players on their bench.
Bench players may consist of any combination of positions. For instance,
if you choose to carry 9 pitchers on your bench, you may do so.

4. STARTING LINEUP REQUIREMENTS
Each week, you will submit a starting lineup. Your lineup will consist
of:
1- Catcher
1- 1st Baseman
1- 2nd Baseman
1- Shortstop
1- Third Baseman
1- Corner Infielder (1B,3B)
1- Middle Infielder (2B,SS)
4- Outfielders
1- DH‘s (Any Hitting Position)
6- Pitchers (Pitchers can be either starters or relievers.)
Your starting lineup will consist of these 18 players at all times. If a
team does not submit a full lineup, the lineup will still be considered
valid, however, only players in the starting lineup may accumulate
points.

5. SCORING
The scoring system is based on points.
All offensive players will accumulate points for
each of these hitting categories:
Single-1 pt.
Double-2 pts.
Triple-3 pts.
Home Run- 4 pts.
Run-1 pt.
RBI-1 pt.
SB-2 pts.
BB-1 pt.
HBP-1 pt.
Hit for Cycle- 15 pts.
All pitchers will accumulate points in these categories:
Win-10 pts.
Save-10 pts.
Inning Pitched- ½ pt
Strikeout-1 pt.
Complete Game Shut Out-10 pts.
Quality Start- 5 pts (min. of 6 IP allowing 3 earned runs or less)
No Hitter-15 pts.
Perfect Game-30 pts. (If a perfect game is thrown, the player only gets
credit for the perfect game and does not receive additional points for
the no hitter.)
***All hitting stats by your pitchers will not be
counted.
***If any of your hitters ever pitch, their
pitching stats will not count
***If a pitcher has a quality start after 6
innings, and loses that quality start past that point, i.e. gets bombed
in the 7th, you will not receive a quality start. He can
never give up more than 3 ER, regardless of how many innings he pitches.

6. POSITION ELIGIBILITY
Any position player who played at least 20 games at any particular
position during last season will be eligible at that position for
this entire season. Once this season starts, any player playing a
new position, will be eligible for that position after accumulating 20
games at that position.
If a player has not played 20 games at any specific position for the
previous year, he may only be used at DH. Once he plays 20 games at a
particular position, he will then be eligible for that position.
Minor league players will be eligible for the positions they played 20
games at while in the minors.

7. FREE AGENTS
Any player who is not drafted by a team in your league will be deemed a
free agent and placed in the free agent pool. Once players are called up
from the minor leagues and officially listed on an MLB roster, they will
also be considered as free agents and placed in the free agent pool.
Players will remain in the free agent pool once they are in the majors,
regardless if they have been sent down for any reason. Players not on
MLB rosters, regardless of the reason, will not be in the free agent
pool until they have been assigned to a major league roster.
There is no limit to the number of bids that any team can make each
week. You may bid as much as you want, as long as you don't exceed your
free agent dollars. Once your free agent dollars are spent, you have no
way of acquiring new players.

8. FREE AGENT ACQUISITIONS
All teams begin with 1,000,000 free agent dollars (One Million Dollars)
that is used to bid on free agents. When a player chooses to acquire a
free agent, he must release a player to make room on their roster.
The bidding process is blind, meaning no team will be able to see other
players’ bids. The team that bids the highest dollar amount, will be
awarded the player. Conditional bids may also be made by teams, in case
they lose out on the original player they were bidding on.
A primary bid, may be followed by a series of sequential conditional
bids. The team will be awarded the first player they outbid their
competition on, and the rest of the bids will be erased. Therefore teams
should rank their conditional bids on priority.
Example: A team bids $100,000.00 on Nate Robertson with a conditional
bid of 80,000.00 on Tom Gordon . If the team is outbid on Robertson, the
Gordon bid is then recognized.
Pyramid bidding will not be recognized (only the first bid for the
player). In other words, if a player makes bids as follows:
Example: Primary Bid 40,000 on Carlos Pena
Conditional Bid 50,000 on Carlos Pena
Conditional Bid 60,000 on Carlos Pena
The system will only recognize the first bid. This is not auction
bidding, it is blind bidding.
The final bidding period of the season occurs on the last day of Week
19, and that day is Sunday, so you may make bids up until the day before
the League Championship Games start. After that time period, free agent
bidding will close for the season, so it's important to set your rosters
at this point so they are “playoff ready“.

9. BIDDING TIME FRAME
Each week, teams will be able to bid on free agents starting at 12:00
EST on Tuesday. Bidding closes each week on Sunday at 7:00 PM EST. After
that time, the players will be awarded to the team that bid the highest,
and results will be up within an hour of the 7:00 PM deadline.
The first week of bidding will start on the last day of Week 1, which is
a Sunday.

10. TIED BIDS
If two teams bid the same amount on a player, and it is the highest bid
for that player, the tiebreaker procedure will be as follows with the
player being awarded to the team with:
1. Worst league record.
2. Team with lowest point total.
3. Coin toss.

11. PROTECTED PLAYER’S LIST
The Fantasy Jungle will also post a list, before the season, of "star"
players that may be released from any team at any time, but will not
enter the free agent pool and therefore not be allowed to be acquired by
another team in the league. This method is done to prevent any form of
collusion. Allowing someone to drop Alex Rodriguez into the free agent
pool so his league mate has a better shot in the championship round
would not be fair.
The Fantasy Jungle also reserves the right to add or remove someone from
the protected players’ list, but that will only be done if they have an
injury/suspension that will sideline them for the entire season or the
majority of the season, or if a player reaches “star“ status. This rule
will allow you to drop anyone from your roster, but forbid league mates
from acquiring them. Also, if you drop a protected player you cannot
reacquire that player at anytime during the season. This is to prevent
players using this rule as a “disabled list” and reacquiring players for
a dollar once they have recovered from an injury.

12. LINEUP SUBMISSION
* NEW THIS YEAR *
Every team must have their starting lineup
for the week in by 5 minutes before the first game of the week. This
usually occurs on a Monday except for the week of the All Star Game in
which you will have until 5 minutes before the first game after the AS
Break. If there is a game that starts on Monday morning before
noon, all players from that particular game need to be in your starting
lineup (5) minutes before the game starts in order to be in your lineup
for that week. At that point, all those players are locked and changes
will not be allowed. The same is true if you have a player carried over
from the previous week, and have not taken him out (5) minutes before
the game starts. He will be locked and in your lineup for the entire
week, so please pay attention to any schedule changes.
Stats are calculated Monday thru Sunday. Once the deadline passes, no
team will be allowed to adjust their starting lineup for that week. If a
team fails to put in a valid starting lineup for week one, they will
automatically have a valid roster submitted determined by draft order
and position requirement.
The March 25th game in Tokyo between Oakland and Boston does not count.
The March 30th Sunday Night Game between Atlanta and Washington does
count as part of Week 1's stats.

13. TRADES
Trades are not allowed in The Fantasy Jungle. Player must use the draft
and waiver wire to produce their winning team. This is to prevent the
possibility of collusion.

14. LEAGUE STRUCTURE
Each league is made up of 15 teams, selected at random, (2) days before
the draft in a live drawing.
We use a POWER SCHEDULING FORMAT. This means that the top scoring team
in their league will be 14-0 for that week. The second best scoring team
would be 13-1, etc.. This happens every week during the regular season,
and your cumulative won/loss record determines one of the teams who make
their League Championship Games.
At the end of week 19, the League Championship Game teams will be
determined. The two teams in each league championship game will be 1)
The team with the best record vs. 2) The remaining team left, with the
highest point total.
If the same team has both the best record and highest point total in
their league, we will take the team with the second highest point total
to play the team with the best record.

15. CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND
The League Championship will be decided over the course of 2 weeks,
which are weeks 20-21 of the season. Teams will be allowed to make
transactions as normal for these weeks. The team with the most points of
these 2 participants over this period (combined with their starting
weekly point average), will be declared the league champion, and the
loser will be the league runner up.
All other teams who do not make their League Championship Games will
continue to play and turn in lineups for these weeks (Weeks 20-21).
After week 21, teams will be selected as wild cards. The number of
wildcard teams will be determined by the number of leagues (1 per
league). Wildcard teams are teams who do not make their league
championship game and have the highest overall point totals. They will
be selected based on points, regardless of their record or what league
they are in. Therefore, there is no limit on how many teams can make it
from each league as a wildcard.

16. THE NATIONAL PLAYOFFS
At the end of week 21, both the League Champion and Runner up will
automatically advance to the National Playoffs and be joined by the
wildcard teams. This will make up the Championship Division. Each team
will begin the playoffs in their respective division with their weekly
scoring average from Weeks 1-21. The playoffs begin with the games that
start on Week 22 and they will conclude on Sunday, at the end of Week
25. The teams with the highest cumulative points in their respective
division will be declared the champion, with the winner of the
championship division earning the title of King of the Jungle.

17.
REGISTRATION DEADLINES:
Space is limited to 150 teams so signup early to avoid being shut
out....
Players may enter 1 team per draft, so feel
free to enter as many as (3) teams.
Please do not wait until the last minute to
sign up, to avoid being shut out. If you wait until right before the
deadline, you may be turned away if The Fantasy Jungle cannot fill a
full league. There will be no partial leagues in the contest.

COST
The cost to play Fantasy Jungle Baseball is $500 per team. This is a
flat fee, and there are no transaction fees, event fees or other hidden
costs.
The price to enter 2 teams is $950.00 (Save 50.00!)
The price to enter 3 teams is $1350.00 (Save 150.00!)
