The Jungle Crew
Scott Gunaca - Co-Founder
Scott is a 38 year old multi business owner hailing from the mean
streets of Detroit, Michigan. After graduating from Eastern Michigan
with degree in Business, he started his first business from the basement
of his house in 1992, at the age of 24. Sabre Freight Systems, a
domestic and international freight forwarding and expediting company, is
now located in a 10,000 sq. foot building outside of Detroit Metro
Airport. Sabre has generated over 40 million dollars in revenue and has
clients across the world. Scott also opened The Emerald Group in 2000,
which is a logistics and warehousing company. In 2001 Scott partnered up
with a couple of high school buddies, who happened to be nurses, and
formed United Nurses Staffing Agency. One of the fastest growing
companies in Michigan, United Nurses helps provide temporary staffing
for hospitals and medical facilities. In 1999 Scott was nominated for
Cranes Magazine's "40 under 40" award, which honors the 40 most
successful business owners under the age of 40 in Michigan. Scott has a
beautiful wife of 11 years and two wonderful children. He started
playing fantasy sports over a decade ago. Normally going by the handle
of "Hammer", you may very well have played against him in a contest. The
move from contest player to operator was one of the most exciting
ventures to date for Scott.
"Our goal is to make The Fantasy Jungle THE PLAYERS contest. I realize
that there have been a few companies that have really left a bad taste
in the mouths of players, and I was one of those players on a few
occasions. This is a fantastic industry that has grown by leaps and
bounds. There are several quality contests out there, and we feel you
can add us to that list. Our first mission is to gain the trust of our
members, and then to listen to their suggestions as we grow. We realize
we will not be number one overnight, but if we continue to look at our
contest from a player's perspective, we have the advantage over our
competitors. As a player, when I look at our structure, this is the
contest I would want to play. When you lose touch with that players'
mentality, you lose touch with the industry as a whole. The bottom line
is that, as in any business, customer service is the most important
thing."
Mike Williams - Co-Founder
Michael is 28 years old and resides in Miami, Florida. He grew up in
West Virginia and attended Marshall University where he graduated with a
degree in Finance. While at Marshall, he played football with current
NFL standouts Randy Moss and Chad Pennington, and was a member of
Marshall's 1996 1-AA National Championship team. Upon graduation, he
took a job in the real estate industry, where he worked on projects in
Myrtle Beach, Lake Tahoe, and the Caribbean island of St. Marteen. Now a
resident of both Miami and Detroit, Michigan, Michael handles the day to
day operations of the Fantasy Jungle.
He started playing fantasy sports at the age of 15, borrowing his
father's credit card in exchange for his allowance, to sign up for
games. Not limited to just fantasy football, he also loves baseball and
basketball. Not really into favorite teams, other than the Los Angeles
Dodgers, he only has favorite players, which change year to year based
on his fantasy teams. Starting the Fantasy Jungle fulfills a lifelong
dream.
"I am very excited to be part of this company, along with Scott. I feel
we both complement each other's strengths and share the same vision as
most of the customers out there. First and foremost, we love the game
ourselves. Secondly, we value everyone's opinions and will always
continue to build this company into the ultimate players game. Things
like waiting months to have your prizes mailed to you, and having your
questions go unanswered for weeks at a time are unacceptable. Players
pay good money to play in a good contest and by all means, they should
receive the utmost in customer service in return."
Adam Smith – Chief Technical Officer
Adam Smith, 24, is one of today’s rising stars in the technology
industry. A recent graduate of Eastern Michigan’s College of Business,
Adam has handled all computer operations for the Fantasy Jungle since
its inception, while working towards a degree in Computer Information
Systems.
In March of 2003, Adam decrypted and re-coded a program for Microsoft
that automates the process of configuring DNS. Because of that
innovation, that feature is now included in Microsoft’s admin tools for
the newest version of Windows server.
When not being bombarded by Scott and Mike with computer requests, Adam
likes to relax by playing guitar and working on music, and traveling
somewhere warm in the winter whenever he gets the chance from his
hometown of chilly Detroit. Handling all computer related applications,
and designing the Jungle’s software, Adam enjoys the many unique
challenges the fantasy industry has to offer.
“I am very excited to be a part of The Fantasy Jungle. In an industry
that is growing as quickly as fantasy sports I am thrilled to belong to
a team so dedicated to excellence and absolutely committed to customer
service. I have no doubt in my mind that this company will soon be the
industry leader that sets the standards for all others to try and live
up to.”
